The Spring Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair champions rising young stars of the antiques world.
When: 23-28 April 2013
Where: Battersea Evolution (The Marquee), Battersea Park, London SW11
The Spring Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair coincides with National Antiques Week this year. The Fair is working with NAW in a new initiative to find the ‘Young Guns’ who are behind the future of the art and antiques industry. All around the UK there are hundreds of fresh businesses being established in the art and antiques world led by enthusiastic youngsters.
They may not be well known, yet, but The Decorative Fair and the organisers of National Antiques Week hope to change that. Twelve Shortlisted young dealers have already been selected as finalists for the 2013 Young Guns of the Antiques Trade Award.
The Winner and two Runners-Up will be announced and presented with their Awards during the Spring Decorative Fair.
The Foyer of the Fair will showcase a selection of stock from this year’s Young Guns contenders, curated by one of the Fair’s own regular ‘young guns’, Mark Hill.
As a youthful expert who is already a well-known name (a new primetime BBC2 series featuring Mark will be on air soon), Mark will be picking a directional edit to showcase the tastes of these young and exciting antiques and vintage devotees. Spot the stars of the future here!
The Spring Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair will of course be full – with over 140 UK and European exhibitors – of wonderful objects, furniture and works of art of all periods to tempt every aficionado of fine interiors.
It’s a stylist’s dream. One visitor to the January Fair described it as “full of wonders… you just can’t get anywhere else.”
