Artful Gift Choice For The Muso Who Has It All

It’s the gift choice that’s set to cause a sensation this year. The Artful Speaker – a smartphone dock with a big difference – is shaping up to be the must-have gift for 2013.

With particular appeal for the discerning muso, style guru or committed petrol-head, Artful Speakers has taken the smartphone dock to a whole new level where each hand-built item is a timeless work of art on which to play MP3 music.

Stunning to look at – and to hear – the amplifiers are made using genuine musical instruments, classic car parts or, in the case of the His Master Voice model, a polished brass gramophone straight out of the jazz age.

John Farnham2 264x300 Artful Gift Choice For The Muso Who Has It AllContemporary artist, designer and businessman, John Farnham1, has developed these exclusive new products. He says: “Not only are these works of art in themselves, handmade to a very high standard, they are great conversation pieces which will enhance any home or office interior for years to come.’

Typical of the appeal of these special docks is the trumpet variant. Mounted on english oak with a solid brass phone holder, the trumpet itself acts as a natural amplifier to give a distinctive sound to the selected track. No additional electric power is needed and the trumpet can even be disconnected and played as a normal instrument.

The floor-standing Trombone version features the full size instrument with a solid brass phone dock and a turned hardwood base. It transforms any music played via the trombone’s amplifier to produce a rich tone, without the need for any additional electric power.

An artistic take on the traditional gramophone horn, the aptly named His Master Voice Deck combines the modern MP3 smartphone with a nostalgic megahorn reminiscent of the jazz age and perfect for that Gatsby look. The polished brass horn is mounted on a turned, solid, hardwood base housing the amplifier. It connects to a music player via a standard 1.5mm jack extending from the base.

Vying for pole position with petrol heads is the Steering Wheel Dock that features a genuine steering wheel for the iconic Jaguar D-type racecar. Appropriately, the turn of an ‘ignition’ key starts up the mellow sound which plays via a polished aluminum carburetor trumpet. Powered by 4xAA batteries, it is supplied with a standard 1.5mm jack plug to fit all modern music players.
